SAN FRANCISCO—The Favoured Gate Bridge is turning 75 this year. And what a historic period it’s been. Big, bold and orange, the bridge is a beloved symbol of San Francisco and one of the most instantly recognizable landmarks in the people.

But for all its photogenic qualities, the bridge is a very accessible icon. You can drive across, traipse across, bike across, sail beneath it, or even scream over it in a daring display of aerial acrobatics. (OK, to do that last possession, you’d have to be in the Navy’s Blue Angels elite flying squad during Squadron Week.)

Been way too much famousness around these parts for consolation lately (not that I’m not thankful for three rt’s from John Cusack this morning) so I consideration I’d animation out the pipes with this fantabulous creature, unfalteringly as alluring in its own way as Paul Newman in his, although far less tenable to send underprivileged kids to encampment or fabricate (but) salad dressing, and far more acceptable to go through as an entree in a Greek restaurant.
