Recycled cargo containers create a cozy retreat in the Santa Cruz mountains
To fabricate the weekend getaway house they'd been dreaming about, San Jose residents Connie DeWitt and Kam Kasravi hauled a series of truckload shipping containers -- cut into sections so they could be maneuvered along the winding passage and over a bridge -- miles up into the Santa Cruz Mountains. Then, they got a crane to lift up the pieces into position among the redwoods.
